Laser Treatments

Tattoo ink particles are too large for the body’s immune system to remove naturally,  This is because, when tattoo pigment is injected into the lower layers of the skin, it becomes locked away by collagen fibres.  Q switched lasers produce very short bursts of high energy laser light.  The light is absorbed by the large ink particles, generating heat which shatters the pigment into minute particles.  The body can then remove them via the lymphatic system.  Because the tattoo ink selectively absorbs the laser energy, the surrounding skin does not overheat and there is no lasting damage. 

As well as tattoo removal, this laser can safely and effectively remove pigmentation/freckles, sun spots and semi permanent make-up eyebrows. Using different power settings and wavelengths enables us to treat most skin problems.  Customers will see a reduction after the first treatment. However, to completely remove a tattoo depends on the ink colour, how deep it is in the skin and what type of ink was used.  Clients should be prepared to undertake a course of treatments.

Can be redness, blisters, scabbing or soreness for a short period.  Area should be kept clean and dry for the first 7 days.  The tattoo will fade over several treatments, over a period  time. Treatments can be repeated, depending on the area of the body, at around 4-7 weekly intervals.  The number of sessions will vary from client to client.

A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair.  The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which damages the follicle enough to retard its growth.  Results can differ widely from person to person with regard to how long the hair will stay away.  Often a top-up treatment is required years later.

Depending on your own personal pain tolerance, clients report that the treatment Is relatively comfortable, as a cold gel is used on the area.

Contrary to popular belief, hair removal using laser isn’t permanent !  Hair grows in indeterminate cycles and it needs to be caught in the ‘growth phase’ for the procedure to be effective.  

The area could be slightly pink for a very short period of time.  

Fibroblast plasma treatment uses a plasma pen. The hand held device emits a small electrical arc from the tip of the pen, without actually touching the skin.   The plasma vaporises the skin giving an immediate tightening affect to the surrounding skin.  The small points, or dots, form tiny scabs which drop off over the following week, revealing a smoother and tighter skin.  Before treatment , the area  is covered in a local anaesthetic cream for 30 minutes before we begin.   There will be a degree of swelling when treating the eye area.   A single treatment is usually enough to give you the results you want.  However, if you want a stronger result, more tightening, the treatment can be repeated after 3 months.

Although completely non-invasive, you will need to expect several days of down time after the treatment.  The skin will need to heal and rejuvenate.
